Butterfly Tag Card by Gemma

I have a card to show you today using two tags, Distress Inks and Dylusions sprays

Spread some Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Carved Pumpkin Distress ink onto a mat, spray it with water and drag the larger tag through the ink. Repeat this with the smaller tag and Twisted Citron Distress ink. Once dry place the petal mask over the tags and spray with White Linen.

Continue spraying the tags through the mask with Squeezed Orange and Lemon Zest Dylusions sprays.

Once dry blend some Twisted Citron Distressed Ink over a Honeycomb mask and around the edges. Mount the tags to some black cardstock, and glue them together.

Stamp two butterflies using archival ink and blend some Squeezed Lemon Distress Ink over the top, doodle over the butterflies with a black pen. Once dry glue the butterflies and some die cut flowers to the front of the card.

If Friends were.........by Debs

Hi Everyone

I must say i am really enjoying playing with the new Distress Oxide inks.  They are just so lovely to use and because they are an Opaque ink, you can achieve some lovely effects.

the only problem with this card, was the fact that i was having so much fun playing that it was only when i had finished that i realised i hadn't taken any photos expect for the very first stage
The background was done with Broken China and Iced Spruce, using the wrinkle free distress method, they really do layer so nicely providing you dry between each layer.

After this layer was dry i added one of the Inspiration Jars direct to the background, and then using post it note to mask off the jar, i then stamped in Sunflowers by Lesley Matthewson then using another piece of post it and stamping with the sunflower made another mask and re-stamped the sunflowers a couple more times.  I painted the flowers using spiced marmalade and peeled paint, and kept layering and drying until i was haps with the colours.  I then lightly stamped the new Neil Walker web stamp, and edged over the top with more spiced marmalade.  Used a piece of scrap card with spiced marmalade on to stamp the phrase from the Botanicals plate.
Hope you have a crafty weekend

Take care

Sunflower Card by Gemma

I have seen some amazing entries this month. and there is still plenty of time to join in the challenge on the blog and the facebook page

I have a fun birthday card to share with you all

Cut a piece of card to fit the card blank and spray with Dylusions ink sprays. Only half press the spray pump for limited coverage.

Edge the card with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and glue into place pieces of washi tape. The washi tape should be different thicknesses.

Stamp five of the larger sunflowers from the sunflower stamp. Paint them with Distress Inks and add some pastels over the top for added interest.

Cut them out, shape them slightly and glue them down the centre of the card. Add a sentiment and draw a line around the edges to finish

Now it's spring...by Angie Coomber

Hello everyone,

It's been a very beautiful spring day here in Kent today!

Here is a layout in my very large ledger for the "Springtime" Challenge.

First of all I created a background using the yummy new Distress Oxide inks (Cracked Pistachio, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade & Vintage Photo).

Next I sketched and painted a tree branch and wrote a quote on the branch. I also splattered some green, pink and white acrylic paint on the page to represent blossom.

I stamped some Artistic Stamper insects onto some mop up pages and embossed with sparkly black embossing powder, cut them out and adhered to the page.

I hope you like it!

Distress Oxides Play

Hi Everyone

Well its been a beautiful day down here in on the East Kent Coast, and it felt like Spring had finally arrived!  The other thing that had arrived, were my first four colours of Distress Oxides.  The new release from Tim Holtz.  So having had a quick play at the weekend when i got them home, today it was time to try them out properly.  Here is what i did

The colours i brought home were Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade. Peeled Paint and Wilted Violet. No other ink was used on the tag, other than a Black Micron pen and a White Signo pen.

Using the wrinkle free distress method i popped some spiced marmalade, walnut stain and peeled paint onto my craft mat, sprayed with water and then swiped the tag through the colours, dried the first layer and then went back in to pick up more ink.
Until i was happy with background.  It was at this point that i started to get very excited and got carried away and forgot to take photos as i added the stamping to the background.

It was as i was nearly finished that i suddenly remembered.  I used a couple of the new mini background stamps, the harlequin, from set #2 and the bee hive and swirl(although that one is a tad difficult to see) from #3
Once i had built up the background i then used the Lesley Matthewson Daisy mask with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and Peeled Paint.
Here are some close up to show you the background

The Wilted Violet really stands out on top of the other colours

You can see the mottling quite clearly on this photo.  They really are a joy to play with and when dry feel like velvet!

Have fun and i shall look forward to seeing your creations

Another spring tag by Titbelsoeur

Hi there,
How about showing you another tag to help you participate in our March challenge ?
This one is built the same way as the previous one you have seen here : March's Creative Challenge - Springtime
Thank you tag

The background is made of gelli printed butterflies. Then I have stamped flowers and sentiments with tone-on-tone ink, and highlighted the "thank you" with a white pen. The support is a cereal box painted with black gesso.
Easy peasy, isn't it ?

March's Creative Challenge - Springtime

Hi
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge. All of the creations were {love}ly!
This month's challenge is Springtime, and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamping in it.

To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.
As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive a stamp of their choice from The Artistic Stamper .

In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook!

To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request to join..  There will be a prize for the Facebook challenge, as well as the blog challenge!
And don't forget....if you use The Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice! To get you started here is some creative gorgeousness from some of the team....

To celebrate the springtime coming, I have made a tag from a pizza box I have painted with dark gesso. The paper was backgrounded with Distress inks, and flowers stamped and stenciled, and then cut out stamped flowers added.
